The Elite Gymnastics Academy
S.T.A.R.S. Program promotes:
Self-confidence, Teamwork, Athleticism, Respect, Strength
Elite offers our S.T.A.R.S.
program to children we feel demonstrate a
certain amount of innate ability. This
is a specialized program, based on an invitation
only policy, and gymnasts must try out to be
invited to join. These children will be given the opportunity to come in for more
time to help them develop increased flexibility,
strength, endurance and discipline.
Shining S.T.A.R.S.: Designed for those
children that are currently enrolled in Beginner Team
to Level 4 who we feel would benefit from more intense training on the USAG
Level 4 skills in order to prepare them to perform better at competitions. This class will promote a positive
self-image while developing more strength, flexibility and discipline. This class will also prepare a child for
higher level gymnastics or sports.
Shooting S.T.A.R.S.: Designed for those children that are
currently enrolled in Level 4 and up who we feel would benefit from more
intense training on the USAG Level 5 & 6 skills in order to prepare them to
perform better at competitions. This
will be a more intense and structured workout with higher level skills
being developed as well as maintaining a higher level of endurance, strength,
flexibility and discipline.
Gymnasts must be 9
years old or younger when beginning this class. The focus of the S.T.A.R.S.
classes will be on the skills required for the
competitive level routines with an emphasis on strength and flexibility. Students in these
classes will be required to display excelled performance in strength and
flexibility and have a unique talent and drive for the sport of
gymnastics. Try outs will be conducted by
Carrie and Greg and will be scheduled only when there are spaces available in
the class. Each group will be limited
to 8 students. The S.T.A.R.S. child
will be continually evaluated to insure that they are in the correct
class. We will challenge each child to
reach their potential but will always keep in mind their needs and the building
of their self-confidence.
The cost for each class is $100 per month and students must attend both days. There is no prorated tuition for missed days.
Make ups may be done in an appropriate
tumbling class and are not permitted in the other group's class. Students are required to wear the S.T.A.R.S.
group leotard. Leotard is to be
purchased by parents and may not be worn to regular classes. No shorts, leggings, sweats, etc may be worn.
Students attending the S.T.A.R.S. class will still be required to attend one of our other regularly
scheduled gymnastics classes in order to continue getting regular training on
all four of the women's events and to show progression through
the USAG Level 1 through Level 3 skills. This group will be moving through the levels quicker than the
average gymnast, so students should prepare for hard work, but also lots of
fun!!
FAQ's
What should the students wear? Students are required
to wear the S.T.A.R.S. group leotard. The
leotard is to be purchased by parents and may not be worn to regular
classes. No shorts, leggings, sweats,
etc may be worn.
What happens if I miss a class? Missed S.T.A.R.S.
workouts can be made up during any of the Tumbling Classes which are
appropriate for the student's ability.
Make ups must be completed within one month of the class that was
missed. We ask that you call ahead for
a make up to ensure that we have enough staff on hand.
What if I can only bring my child
one day per week? Although there may be cases where we might still invite a child to
join the class that can only attend one day per week, it's important to note
that there is no prorated tuition for missed classes. A student that attends only one day per week will still be
required to pay the full monthly tuition and may do make ups in accordance with
the policy above.
What if my child already comes to
her regular class on Tuesday and Thursday? If your child already attends classes on Tuesday
and Thursday, they will need to switch to classes that meet on other days in
order to remain in the S.T.A.R.S. class.
All of our Beginner Team and up classes are offered on days that will
accommodate the Tuesday and Thursday schedule.
